Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You... you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You... you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one
- John Lennon (1971)
John Lennon's utopian song, Imagine was voted third Greatest Song of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine. According to the Wikipedia, the refrain is believed to have been written by Yoko Ono in reaction to her childhood in Japan during World War II.

When one reads between the lines, it's clear to see that the lyrics are down-right anti-religious.
But Lenny boy's predictions sure will come true someday....people will walk away from religion due to their own impatience & stupidity :)
I'm sure all the crusades, jihads and assorted holy wars from time immemorial will help people make up their minds.
who is gobblezygook?
Ask the Teddybear.
Isn't impatience and stupidity the reason for religions?
If you made that statement a few centuries ago, you'd have got a house call from the Inquisition.
but religion is a man made thing anyway right? goblezygook.
i dont know, maybe the future would see a time where we all would live in unity without any need of possesions or the need for status coz we ll be gifted with something much better than all that.
